Dear comrades,
On the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Venezuela, we send you and all your militants the warm and fraternal greetings of the Communist Front (Italy).
We know that they have been years of hard struggles, often conducted in conditions of secrecy and brutal repression, but we also know that the difficulties and harshness of the clash with the dictatorship of capital have not prevented the Venezuelan communists and your Party from always being at the head of the struggles of the oppressed, fulfilling with honor and coherence the role of revolutionary vanguard of the proletariat that every authentically communist party should play.
We are following with concern the involution of the Psuvist socialdemocratic regime in your country, marked by its growing concessions to capital, whether private or state, to land rent and to the state and PSUV bureaucratic apparatuses as components organic to the local bourgeoisie. This is resulting in the gradual but rapid cancellation of the social achievements and the political and labor union rights that Venezuelan workers had acquired during the years of the presidency of Comandante Chavez, and in the intensification of the repression of the just workers’ and people’s protests that this degenerative process is arousing. As always, socialdemocracy turns out to be capitalism’s best ally, ready to betray and do the dirty work on behalf of the bourgeoisie. In addition to this, the living conditions of the Venezuelan proletariat are worsening and, paradoxically, the bourgeoisie’s revenge is favored due to the renewal of the criminal sanctions, imposed by the US and EU imperialists, aimed at striking the working class and the people of Venezuela with the declared intent to destabilize the country and create the conditions for a direct intervention, disguised under “humanitarian” pretexts.
We denounce and condemn the impediments to the exercise by the PCV and its MP of their political rights, the persecution of communist militants and labor union activists, the provocations and absurd judicial theorems concocted by the Psuvist regime, aimed at definitively banning the Communist Party of Venezuela. We strongly demand the immediate release from Psuvist prisons of all communist political prisoners.
Even if it is almost clear that the Communist Party of Venezuela will have to face a new period of secrecy, due to the betrayal of the Psuvist regime currently in power, we are sure that this will not stop you, nor will it make you desist from leading the workers’ and people’s struggles against capitalism and internal reaction, against external imperialist aggression, for the victory of socialism-communism. With this certainty, dear comrades, we express all our militant solidarity with you in this difficult moment and wish you success and victories for the future.
