To the Delegates and the Presidium of the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Türkiye (TKP)
Dear comrades,
On behalf of the entire Communist Front of Italy we send you warm and fraternal greetings on the occasion of your 14th Congress.
In this last year, the international situation has been characterized by a general worsening of the working and living conditions of the working class and the popular strata all over the world as a result of the deepening of the capitalist crisis. However, the factor that has surely undergone the most significant acceleration in the last period is the generalized economic clash between the declining imperialist powers and blocs and the emerging ones. This causes wars of less and less “regional” nature that risk degenerating into a world war with the use of atomic weapons.
We see this in the dangerous escalation of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine between the imperialist US-EU-NATO bloc on the one hand and capitalist Russia on the other. The prolongation of the conflict worsens the condition of the proletariat and the popular strata who, even when they are not used as cannon fodder at the front, suffer the economic costs of the massacre committed by their exploiters. The war in Ukraine is fueling the EU-wide arms race and militarization of society, moving it towards a war economy that will increase the profits of the military industry’s capitalists along with the exploitation and misery of the working masses. In Italy as well the government is openly discussing the possibility of having the arms factories work 7/24.
The situation has significantly worsened in the Middle East area as well, where the escalation of violence by the Israeli army and settlers against Palestinian civilians, women and children in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is an attempt at genocide against the Palestinian people, which the fascist and Zionist government of the bourgeois Israeli state is carrying out with the complicity, mainly but not only, of the USA and the EU. The Israeli, US and EU monopolies have precise plans for the illegitimate exploitation and robbery of Palestinian lands, Exclusive Economic Zone and territorial waters. We reiterate our solidarity with the indomitable Palestinian resistance and the right of the Palestinian people to exercise it in every way and by every means, until complete liberation. In this area too, there is a strong risk of the conflict widening and involving other powers, local and otherwise, in the event that Israel, supported by the Euro-Atlantic imperialist bloc, attacks Lebanon and Iran.
In addition to these slaughters of peoples, there are several other hotbeds of conflict, from Africa to the Korean peninsula and the Indo-Pacific area, where strong tensions are evident between the local allies of the USA-EU-NATO bloc and China, Russia and the DPRK.
“Multipolarity”, of which Russia and China have made their flag, is already a matter of fact today, but it is not a factor of peace and stability. It rather hides a new division of the world between imperialist powers that, in order to cope with the capitalist crisis and international competition, do not hesitate to resort to war. The alleged “peaceful multipolar world” is a bourgeois propaganda concept that acts on the ideological level with the aim of attracting the proletariat under the flag of its exploiters to be massacred for their interests. In our opinion as communists, instead, weapons should not be used against other proletarians, our class brothers, but rather turned against our exploiters.
The era of imperialism, in which we are living, is also the era of the proletarian revolution. There can be no final success in the struggle against imperialism without the victory of the socialist revolution. The success of the class struggle in our countries is closely linked to the construction and strengthening of the Communist Party in each individual country on sound theoretical Marxist-Leninist revolutionary foundations, impenetrable to the ideology of the class enemy. Only a strong Communist Party can cope with the epochal challenges that lie ahead and fight successfully against imperialism, reformism and opportunism, unfortunately now widespread even within the international communist movement, to create the objective and subjective conditions for the proletarian revolution and lead the working class to the seizure of power and the construction of socialism-communism. For this purpose we believe that increasing collaboration and coordination between sister communist parties, in the spirit of proletarian internationalism, is extremely important. Collective analyzes should be followed by the elaboration of joint strategic guidelines, and ideological-political positions, as well as by joint campaigns and struggle actions shared simultaneously. Despite full awareness of our current weakness, the efforts of the Communist Front of Italy and, we are sure, also those of the Communist Party of Turkey are aimed at this. These common efforts motivate our convinced membership in the European Communist Action, which we have joined, together with you, dear comrades, since its foundation.
Dear comrades, in these years we have appreciated the ideological consistency and the commitment to struggle of the Communist Party of Turkey, at home against the national bourgeoisie and within the international communist movement, against the opportunist positions on imperialist war, the “market socialism” or the “21st century socialism”, against old and new social-democracy.
We therefore wish you, dear comrades, an effective and productive conduct of your 14th Congress and the greatest success in our common revolutionary struggle for the emancipation of the proletariat.
