We hereby publish the letter that the Communist Front of Italy has sent to the Syrian Communist Party.
Dear comrades,
We have just learned with deep sorrow of the sudden passing of comrade Ammar Baghdash. On behalf of all the militants of the Italian Communist Front, we express our deepest condolences and ask you to convey them to his family.
This is a serious loss not only for the Syrian Communist Party, but for the entire international communist movement. We have lost a tenacious fighter for the cause of socialism-communism, a leader consistent and firm in Marxist-Leninist principles, at the same time internationalist and patriot of his motherland, a man of immense culture and profound humanity.
We remember the convinving logic of his arguments, always supported by a documented analysis of reality and history, exposed with passion, sometimes with biting sense of humor, but without ever exceeding.
We join in the mourning of all who knew, respected, and loved him, with the wish that his comrades in struggle will inherit his political legacy and hold high the red flag under which he has been fighting throughout his life.
May the earth rest lightly upon you, comrade Ammar!
