On behalf of the Central Committee and all members of the Communist Front (Italy), we express our firm and unconditional militant solidarity with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and condemn in the strongest possible terms the arrests of M.A. Baby, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and other Party leaders, carried out by the Delhi police authorities yesterday, 27 May 2026.
The arrests took place during a protest rally organised in response to the raid conducted by the Enforcement Directorate at the home of Pinarayi Vijayan, a member of the Central Committee of the CPI(M) and former Chief Minister of Kerala, as well as at the homes of other family members and comrades close to him. This incident comes in the context of a judicial crackdown orchestrated against India’s communist forces by the right-wing government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
We demand the immediate release of all the comrades arrested and an end to the repression against Indian communists that the reactionary government of India is carrying out in order to have a free hand in implementing its anti-people policies in favour of the country’s monopolies.
Hands off Indian communists! Repression will not pass!
